The neighbor gave me a bag of these things... does anyone know what they are?

To me, the taste is very similar to cassava and does not look like water chestnut at all, despite the name. A fun and interesting nut to try if you want to diversify your starch sources. I would recommend giving it a try if you ever have the opportunity
