Pareidolia is the tendency of the human brain to recognize familiar patterns in random shapes. It’s the same reason people sometimes see faces in clouds, mountains, shadows, trees, or even stains on a wall.

When people see an unusual photograph like this, it’s natural to wonder whether there’s another explanation.
