I m 91 and I Still Wear Skirts and Heels

At 91 years old, most people might expect a woman to slow down, dress more conservatively, and stop caring about fashion. But one woman refuses to accept those expectations.

 

She still wears skirts. She still enjoys heels. And she still takes pride in getting dressed and looking her best before stepping outside.

 

When people ask why she continues to dress this way at her age, her answer is simple: because she enjoys it.

 

For her, getting older has never meant giving up the things that make her feel confident and happy. Her body has changed over the decades, as everyone’s does, but her personality hasn’t disappeared. She still enjoys choosing an outfit, looking in the mirror, and feeling good about herself.

 

She also questions the idea that women should “dress their age.” Who decided that certain colors, skirts, or shoes belong only to younger women? Why should reaching a particular age mean giving up personal style?

 

To her, age is simply a number. It tells you how many years you’ve lived, but it doesn’t determine what you like, what makes you happy, or how you should express yourself.

 

She understands that comfort and safety become increasingly important with age. She doesn’t pretend that she’s twenty, and she chooses her shoes carefully. But being practical doesn’t mean giving up everything she enjoys.
